Cascais Half Marathon 2027
01. Organisation
The Half Marathon 21.1K is organised by HMS Sports (VAT number: 508 383 528 Address: Rua Principal, 63, Bairro da Mina 2785-163, São Domingos de Rana Cascais, Portugal), with support of Cascais City Council and Cultural and Sports Center of the Cascais Municipality Staff.

The race have four distances, with start and finish at Dom Luís I Promenade, Cascais Bay:
- Bambis (born between 2021 and 2022): approx. 300 metres (*)
- Benjamins A (born between 2018 and 2020): approx. 500 metres
- Benjamins B (born between 2016 and 2017): approx. 700 metres
- Infantis (born between 2014 and 2015): approx. 1000 metres
(*) In this category the child may be accompanied by (a) parent(s) or legal guardian.
04. Supply Points
Half Marathon 21.1K:
- Liquid supply points at 5K, 7.5K, 10K, 13K, 15.5K, 18K and finish line
- Solid supply points at 13K and finish line
Cascais 10K Race
- Supply points at 2.5 km, 7.3 km and finish line
Cascais 5K Race:
- Supply points at 3.5 km and at the finish line
Kids’s Race:
- Provisioning point at finish line
05. Event Duration
The races will have the following respective time limits:
- 21.1 km: 3 hours
- All athletes who have not reached the 10 km mark of the 21.1 km race by 10:45 will be stopped from continuing the race
- 10 km: 2 hours
- 5 km: 1 hour and 30 minutes
After the time limits for each race, normal vehicle traffic will be restored.

GOLD registration
Single price, which can be applied to any of the three distances: €70
There is a limit of 80 GOLD registrations. GOLD registration includes: a windbreaker, socks, access to the guest area, a welcome kit, race packet collection in the guest area on race day, a changing room, priority start in Elite B and a post-race massage.
Kid’s Race:
- Single price: €4,00
- All registration fees will be donated to a charitable organisation to be announced in due course.
c) Payments can be made through ATM reference, VISA or MB Way. Each reference has a maximum validity of 72 hours. After this validity period, the reference expires and it will be necessary for the athlete to perform a new registration.
d) The organisation may at any time suspend or extend deadlines or add or limit the number of registrations of the event depending on needs / technical / structural availability, without notice.
Your registration is not transferable.
e) Registration Limits
- Half Marathon 21.1K: 5000 runners
- Cascais 10K Race: 5000 runners
- Cascais 5K Race: 2000 runners
- Kids’s Race: 500 runners
Registrations will be closed as soon as the defined slots are completed.
f) Ages
- Half Marathon 21.1K: athletes under the age of 20 are not allowed to participate - 2007.
- Cascais 10K Race: athletes under the age of 18 are not allowed to participate - 2009.
- Cascais 5K Race: open to all ages.
- Kids’s Race: born between 2014 and 2022.
Participants under the age of 14 years shall include the insurance coverage, article number 22 of this Regulations.
07. Race Packet
The race packet includes:
- Half Marathon 21.1K and Cascais 10K Race: a long-sleeved jersey (female and male versions), chip, race bib and pins.
- Cascais 5K Race: a long-sleeved jersey, race number and pins.
- Kids’s Race: a technical unisex t-shirt, two race bibs - one for the athlete and one for the caretaker to be able to collect the child at the end of the race and pins.
The organisation guarantees all athletes a t-shirt. The available sizes for the Half Marathon 21.1 km, 10 km, and 5 km races in Cascais will be: XS, S, M, L, and XL for Women, and XS, S, M, L, and XL for Men.
The measurements (height x width) for the available long-sleeve sizes are:
The sizes available for the Children's Race will be: 4-5 / 6-8 / 10-12 / S.

Athletes who choose kit 2 for the Half Marathon 21.1K, Cascais 10K and 5K Races, the following windbreaker and sock sizes will be available, respectively:

The Race Packet 2 option (windbreaker and socks) and GOLD registration are only available through the individual registration form. If you wish to purchase Kit 2 and register as part of a group for the 21.1 km or 10 km races, you must first register individually and then contact the organisation (suporte@hmssports.pt) to be added to the team.
The size of each t-shirt will be chosen in the registration form of the respective race (Half Marathon 21.1K, Cascais 10K Race, Cascais 5K Race and Children's Race).
No participation race packet collection, exchanges of t-shirt, windbreaker, or sock sizes will not be accepted.
If stock is available after the event, the organisation will swap the t-shirt.
08. Race Packet Picking
a) The Athlete Kit for the Half Marathon 21.1 km, 10 km of Cascais, 5 km of Cascais, and Children’s Race will be delivered at the Main Auditorium (next to EDP Plaza) - Nova School of Business and Economics – Carcavelos, at the following times:
- February 4, 2027: from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- February 5, 2027: from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- February 6, 2027: from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
No Race Packet will be given on race day.
b) To collect the Race Packet, you must present:
- Registration confirmation of the athlete holding the race bib received in the email inbox after payment
c) Race Packet picking on behalf of another athlete:
The race packet picking on behalf of another participant can be done as long as the following elements are presented:
- Registration confirmation of the runner (email received after payment)
- ID of the runner (passport or driving license)
If the person collecting the race packet does not have this registration confirmation, presenting a valid ID (Identity Card, Citizen Card, or Driver’s License) may be required.
09. Not collected or returned Race Packet Policy
The organisation will keep the race packets which weren't picked up for 15 days after the event.
To claim your race packet, you should get in touch with us.
If you don't claim your race packet after the established period, it will be donated to a social institution.
The finishers'race packets will only be available for the runners that cross the finish line.
10. Race Bib Numbers
The use of the race bib number is mandatory in the Half Marathon 21.1K, in the Cascais 10K Race, in the Cascais 5K Race and in the Kids'race.
The use of your official race bib number must be placed in the t-shirt's front, using the provided pins.
The race bib number is personal and non-transferable.
The organisation will disqualify all runners that:
- Do not wear the assigned race bib number in their t-shirts
- Wear other runner's race bib number
- Fold or manipulate the bib number in any way
Athletes without a race bib number will not be allowed to circulate on the course and will not have access to the sponsors gifts.
The organisation guarantees a personalised bib number to all athletes who make their registration and respective payment until 17 January 2027.
11. Race Certification / Timing System / Chip
Half Marathon 21.1K and Cascais 10K Race:
The organisation guarantees to all registered, who collect their race bib, a timing system through a chip that is coded for the athlete, being personal and non-transferable. All athletes must use the chip provided in the race packet located on the back of the race bib and which cannot be removed or removed.
The chip reading will only occur if the race bib is placed correctly. If the chip is taken off or removed by the athlete, the athlete will not be classified.
The chip is disposable and will not have to be returned at the end of the race.
The organisation is not responsible for the failure to present results in case of incorrect placement of the chip.
The organisation will disqualify all athletes who perform the race with:
- More than a chip
- A chip from another athlete
- Male athletes with female athlete chips and vice versa
Cascais 5K Race:
In the Cascais 5K Race, there is no classification, so it is not timed. However, the athlete will have available after the completion of the race an electronic participation certificate that can be obtained on the official website of the competition.
12. Awards and Prizes
The top three male and female finishers of the 21.1 km Half Marathon and the 10 km Cascais Race (only the overall classification will be considered) will receive:
- A trophy
- A €100 voucher for a Montepio Associação Mutualista mutualist plan; to take advantage of this offer, it is necessary to be or become a Montepio member
- A hamper with LIDL products
- A Marina de Cascais kit
The Kimpton Quinta da Marinha Cascais will offer vouchers to the top three male and female finishers of the 21.1 km Half Marathon:
- 1st place: Weekend Stay Voucher (2 Nights) at the official race hotel; the prize is valid for one year (until 1 February, 2027), subject to availability at the time of booking and excluding 31 December 2027.
- 2nd place: Dinner Voucher for 2 People worth €100, redeemable at one of the following restaurants: Restaurante Monte Mar Cascais, Restaurante Story at Onyria Marinha Cascais, Vignette Collection; the prize is valid for one year (until 1 February, 2027), subject to availability at the time of booking and excluding 31 December 2027.
- 3rd place: Spa Voucher – 1 Relaxation Massage at Natur Spa, available at either the Onyria Marinha Cascais, Vignette Collection; the prize is valid for one year (until 1 February, 2027), subject to the spa's availability at the time of the client's preferred booking and excluding 31 December 2027.
The first man and first woman to cross the 10 km intermediate finish line will receive a prize, courtesy of LIDL. Prizes will only be awarded to athletes who complete the full 21.1 km Half Marathon course and cross the finish line.
All participants who cross the finish line of the 21.1 km Half Marathon, 10 km Cascais Race, and 5 km Cascais Race will receive a medal, along with other various sponsor gifts.
All participants in the Children's Race will receive an event souvenir, along with other various sponsor gifts.
An electronic participation certificate will be available for download on the event website for all athletes.
13. Participation Rules
Everyone can be part of this race, regardless of their nationality or sex, as long as they are registered and have accepted our terms and policy.
Participation in the 21.1 km Half Marathon and the 10 km race in Cascais is not permitted for athletes under 20 and 18 years of age, respectively.
In the Cascais 5K Race everyone can be part of this race, regardless of their age.
The Kids’s Race is open to athletes born between 2014 and 2022.
For the safety of all participants, people riding bicycles, animals, skateboards and rollerblades will not be allowed to participate. The organisation does not advise participation in baby wheelchair.
The participation of athletes in wheelchair is allowed and must obey the general rules of this regulation.
Participants under the age of 14 should consult the insurance rules in article number 22 of this Regulations.

(*) The levels are considered in relation to the calendar year in which the athletes reach the stipulated ages. Athletes assume the rank of Veterans (V35) on their 35th birthday, taking the year 1992 as a reference. For the remaining veteran categories, the calendar year will be considered.
In the Cascais 5K Race, all athletes born after 2009 will be considered juniors.
On the race day, participants must carry an ID (Identity Card, Citizen Card or Driving License) stating their date of birth.
Kid’s Race

15. Starting Areas
Half Marathon 21.1K
The start of the Half Marathon 21.1 Km will be divided into waves that correspond to the athletes'levels of physical preparedness.
As a reference, it should be used the time obtained in a half-marathon enrolled in the last two years.

To gain access to the ELITE, SUB 1h25, SUB 1h40 and SUB 1h50, it is mandatory to present a record of less than or equal to 1h14, 1h25, 1h40 or 1h50, respectively, performed in a half-marathon enrolled in the last two years.
Cascais 10K
The start of the 10 km Cascais Race will be divided into waves. These waves correspond to the athletes’ levels of physical preparedness. As a reference, athletes should use their time from a race of at least 10 km completed within the past two years.

To gain access to the ELITE, SUB45, SUB50 and SUB60, it is mandatory to present a record of less than or equal to 37:30, 45, 50 or 60 minutes, respectively, performed in a 10K race enrolled in the last two years.
The proof of enrollment must be sent to suporte@hmssports.pt with the indication of the race bib number and name of the athlete, until 17 January 2027.
All athletes who register after the 17 January 2027 will have a period of three days after registration to send a proof of time to change the starting block. If this procedure is not made within this period, the starting block will not be changed.
16. Course Conditions
The organisation is committed to choose the best course, so that runners safety is guaranteed. However, it is not responsible for the pavement condition or obstacles that may appear during the course. The course is approved by the official public entities.
17. Unsporting Behaviors
The organisation will disqualify runners who:
- provide any untrue info in the registration form
- don't have his/hers race number and chip properly placed
- show poor physical shape
- don't have a race bib or does not have the original race bib
- don't have the race bib on the front of the t-shirt and be clearly visible as specified by the organisation
- use other runner's race bib or timing chip
- fold or manipulate the race bib in any way
- improperly use of the supplied chip
- use more than one timing chip
- disregard the signs placed by the organisation and/or jump barriers to get to start line
- do not complete the whole official course
- disregard instructions given by the organisation
- show any kind of unsporting behavior (i.e.: intentionally pushing other athletes)
- disregard other runners
HMS Sports won't accept runners who have an unsporting behavior in its future races.
18. Cloakroom Service
The organisation provides the cloakroom service to all participants of the race day.
The cloakroom service is open from 7:30 AM to 12:00 AM at Cidadela.
The organisation will also provide a Bike Park for all participants at Cidadela, which will be open between 7:30 AM and 12:00 AM.
The organisation is not responsible for any object, equipment, etc., left in the cloakroom and for any loss or damage of materials that may participants may suffer while participating in the event.
19. Security and Medical Assistance
Security and Medical Assistance Race Course
The police forces will be responsible for managing, planning, controlling and eliminating unauthorised traffic during the competitions, as well as guaranteeing the safety of the participants.
Car traffic will be off, along the entire length of the course, with the advance notice stipulated by the competent authorities. The reopening of car traffic will take place three hours after the race starts.
The organisation of the event will provide the participants of the Half Marathon 21.1K, Cascais 10K Race, Cascais 5K Race and Kids’s Race with medical support and emergency ambulances during the course, start and finish of the races.
If there is a need for continuity of emergency medical care, it will be carried out at the National Health Service, under its responsibility.
The medical team will have the authority to remove from the Half Marathon 21.1K, Cascais 10K Race, Cascais 5K Race and Kids’s Race any athlete who is not fit to participate or who has received vital medical care during the race.
20. Complaints
Complaints must be made in accordance with the rules of the World Athletics (WA) and the Portuguese Athletics Federation (FPA), adding a €50 fee to the complaint file. This amount will be deposited until the complaint is solved. The amount will be refunded if the complaint is justified.
Any complaint must be filed in writing using an official paper provided by the organisation and until the end of the event.
20. Acceptance
21.1 Disclaimer
When registering, all participants accept this regulations and, in case of doubt or a situation not included in it, they must inform the organisation.
Upon registration, all participants agree to accept this Regulations.

Half Marathon 21.1K, Cascais 10K Race and Cascais 5K Race
With the registration, all the participants declared to assume the following Term of Responsibility:
- a) I have read and agree to the General Terms and Rules of Participation of Half Marathon 21.1K, Cascais 10K Race and Cascais 5K Race, available on the official website meiamaratonadecascais.pt
- b) I am aware of my health condition and I am physically and psychologically able to take part in this event.
- c) I am committed to refrain from participating in Half Marathon 21.1K, Cascais 10K Race and Cascais 5K Race if my health conditions change after enrollment.
- d) I have read and I am aware of the insurance policy of this event.
- e) By taking part in Half Marathon 21.1K, Cascais 10K Race and Cascais 5K Race, I unconditionally authorize that HMS Sports Consulting and its partners use my image. All image rights - photos or filming - regarding my participation in the event belong to HMS Sports. All images may be used by the organisation for promoting purposes and are free of charge.
- f) I take part in Half Marathon 21.1K, Cascais 10K Race and Cascais 5K Race willingly, exempting HMS Sports Consulting, partners, directors, employees and others related to the organisation of any liabilities that may come out of my participation in this events (i.e. loss of personal objects by theft or other circumstances).
Kids’s Race
With the registration of the child, the parents, legal guardians and/or guardians accept this regulation and, in case of doubt or appearance of a situation not contemplated therein, must inform the organisation.
The legal person responsible for the child also declares to assume the following Term of Responsibility, which states that:
- a) I have read and agree to the General Terms and Rules of Participation of Half Marathon 21.1K, available on the official website meiamaratonadecascais.pt
- b) I am aware of the child's health conditions and guarantee that he/she is physically and psychologically able to take part in this event.
- c) I am committed to not allow the child from participating in the Children's Race if their health conditions change after enrollment.
- d) I have read and I am aware of the insurance policy of this event.
- e) By taking part in Kids’s Race, I unconditionally authorize that HMS Sports Consulting and its partners use the child's image. All image rights - photos or filming - regarding his/hers participation in the event belong to HMS Sports. All images may be used by the organisation for promoting purposes and are free of charge.
- f) I authorize the child to take part in Kids’s Race willingly, exempting HMS Sports Consulting, partners, directors, employees and others related to the organisation of any liabilities that may come out of his/hers participation in this event (i.e. loss of personal objects by theft or other circumstances).
21.2 Data processing
The personal data will be processed automatically, according to the terms approved by the General Regulation of Data Protection, of the European Union, by the organisation of the event, entity responsible for the data, exclusively for the provision of the services necessary for participation in the event in which it is registered.
The processing of data for communication about the event in which it subscribes, communication of other events and services of HMS Sports Consulting and communication of partners HMS Sports Consulting is optional and is subject to specific consent and expressed in the event registration form, always in accordance with Directive 95/46/EC of April 27th, 2016.
Participants are guaranteed, under the terms of the same law, access to their data, and may request in writing from the organisation to update, correct or delete it.
The personal data collected in connection with this event will be stored for a period of two years and are accessible free of charge for consultation, rectification or deletion by email: geral@hmssports.pt
22. Insurance
Participants must meet the conditions of health necessary for the practice of sports. Upon enrollment they assume that they feel physically and psychologically prepared for the physical effort inherent in the race in which they will participate.
All participants, without exception, must meet the conditions of health necessary to practice sports, exempting the organisation of the race, its partners, supporters and public bodies involved from any responsibilities.
Activating the insurance requires the payment of a €75 excess.

The event organisers provide participants with personal accident insurance, as stipulated in official document no. CR/7/2013 (AAL Sports Insurance – Season 2013/2014), covering death or permanent disability up to €31,672.04, treatment costs up to €5,067.53, and funeral expenses up to €2,533.76.

The event organisers provide participants with personal accident insurance, as stipulated in official document no. CR/7/2013 (AAL Sports Insurance – Season 2013/2014), covering death or permanent disability at only 10% of €31,672.04, treatment costs up to €5,067.53, and funeral expenses up to €2,533.76.
The organisation is not responsible for any situations that are not covered by this insurance policy.
23. Cancel registration
The organisation does not accept the return of the registration fee.
However, until 24 February 2027, the athlete may assign his/her race bib and chip to another person as long as formally request this change by writing to the organisation - suporte@hmssports.pt. If the participant does not inform the organisation of such situation, the organisation will not be responsible for any accident or damage that may occur.
The organisation only guarantees personalised race bib to those athletes who exchange the registration until 17 January 2027.
24. Image copyright
By taking part in Half Marathon 21.1K, runners unconditionally authorize that HMS Sports Consulting, Cascais City Council and CCCDPMCASCAIS use their image. All image rights - photos or filming - regarding his/hers participation in the event belong to HMS Sports. All images may be used by the organisation for promoting purposes and are free of charge.
25. Personal data waiver
The HMS Sports Consulting, the Centro de Cultura e Desporto do Pessoal do Município de Cascais (Culture and Sports Center for the Staff of the Municipality of Cascais) and Município de Cascais (Municipality of Cascais) reserves the right to use the database with runner's personal data, collected through the registration form for promotional activities.
Runners are able to refuse the use of their personal data in registration form by choosing the option "Deny authorisation".
26. Event cancellation policy
The organisation reserves the right to change the scheduled programe or to cancel the event due to natural disasters, for safety considerations or if required to do so by official orders. In such cases, the promoter shall not be liable to compensate participants for any losses incurred.
In these cases, the organisation reserves the right, within 30 days of the date scheduled for the event, to issue an opinion on the actions to be taken as a result of the seriousness of the cancellation.
27. Legislation & Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions of use of this website are subject to Portuguese legislation in force at the time.
Any conflict or divergence of interpretation will be submitted to the competent territorial court. If the User resides outside Portugal, the Portuguese courts are hereby agreed to be competent.
